This breakfast is not only visually stunning but also brings joy to your morning routine.

New to Dragon Fruit?

Don’t let the bold pink hue intimidate you—dragon fruit (also known as pitaya) is as approachable as it is stunning. Its flavor is subtly sweet and mellow, with tiny edible seeds that add a gentle crunch. When blended, the texture is smooth and creamy, making it a natural fit for smoothie bowls.

But there’s more to love than just looks:

  • Naturally vibrant – Its neon color comes from powerful antioxidants like betacyanins (the pigments in beets).
  • Refreshing and light – Unlike some tropical fruits that can be heavy, dragon fruit is cooling, hydrating, and crisp.
  • Nutrient-rich – It’s a good source of fiber, magnesium, and vitamin C—plus it’s naturally low in sugar.

Whether you’re here for the aesthetics or the feel-good fuel, dragon fruit brings the kind of energy that looks as good as it tastes.

Ingredients

Smoothie Base

  • 6 oz. frozen red dragon fruit (pitaya)

  • 1 frozen banana

  • ½ cup frozen pineapple

  • ¼ to ½ cup milk of choice (adjust for texture)

Toppings

Instructions

  1. Add the frozen red dragon fruit, banana, pineapple, and ¼ cup of milk to a high-speed blender.

  2. Blend, starting on medium speed and slowly increasing the speed to high, for 1 to 2 minutes until a thick and smooth consistency is achieved. Stop your blender occasionally to mix the ingredients together and push them down with a smoothie stick. Add more milk, one tablespoon at a time, if needed, to speed up the blending.

  3. Spoon the smoothie into a bowl, using the back of a spoon to create a smooth surface for the toppings.

  4. Add sliced banana, strawberries, pineapple, cubed white dragon fruit, and a generous sprinkle of Carrot-Turmeric Garden Granola for the perfect crunch. Enjoy immediately.
